The Expense of This Class

One thing about the expense of the class... there is no textbook and the art book I would choose is over $125... many business and science books can top $200 as you know.  Did you know you can get into the Met in NYC for 25 cents if that's what you choose to give?  Many students do give that amount or maybe $1 if they are feeling generous.  The Yale Museums are free...

The Atheneum has this information posted:

Free Morning Last Saturday Each Month
Completely funded by members of the museum’s Board and our patrons, the Free Morning program provides free admission to all visitors the last Saturday of every month between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Library ARTpass

Visit your Connecticut public  library and borrow the Wadsworth Atheneum ARTpass.
Offered free of charge to more than 200 Connecticut public  libraries, the ARTpass provides free general admission for two adults and two youth age 17 and younger. Select a “free day” that suits your family’s calendar! Not valid during fundraisers including Fine Art &Flowers (April 23 – 26, 2009) and Festival of Trees & Traditions (December 5 – 13, 2009)

Each Museum does have a time set aside to get in for free... The Aldrich in Ridgefield is free all day Thursday.... Check each museums website for more information.

The ARTpass (available at your local library.. just call the desk) gets you into 15 Museums in the state...Here is a list of all of the Museums on the Art Trail: http://www.arttrail.org/museums.htm

You can also buy the pass outright, getting you into all 15 museums for $25.

-Hope that helps!
